Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Sidney Paul & Co (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects when you visit our website, place an order, or sign up for our email or SMS marketing. It also covers how we use that information and the choices you have. If you have any questions, contact us at [email protected].

Who we are

Our website address is https://www.sidneypaulandco.com. You can reach us at [email protected] with any questions about this policy or how we handle your personal information.

Personal information we collect

We collect personal information in the following ways:

Cookies

When you leave a comment on our site, you can opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. This saves you from re-entering your details the next time you comment. These cookies last for one year.

Visiting our login page sets a temporary cookie that checks whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie holds no personal data, and it disappears once you close your browser.

Logging in sets up several cookies to save your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. Selecting “Remember Me” keeps you logged in for two weeks. Logging out removes these login cookies.

Editing or publishing an article or page saves an additional cookie in your browser. It contains no personal data, simply records the ID of the post you just edited, and expires after one day.

Our website also uses cookies to keep track of items you put into your shopping cart, including when you have abandoned your cart. See “Email and SMS Text Message Marketing” below for how we use this.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, and embed additional third-party tracking. If you have an account with one of them and are logged in, they can also monitor your interaction with their embedded content.

Email and SMS Text Message Marketing

If you opt in to receive text messages or emails from Sidney Paul & Co, we collect your phone number and/or email address to send you order updates, promotional offers, cart reminders, and other marketing communications you have agreed to receive. We use a third-party marketing platform (Klaviyo) to send and manage these communications.

Abandoned cart messages

Sidney Paul & Co’s website uses cookies to help keep track of items in your shopping cart, including any cart you abandon. We use this information to decide when to send cart reminder messages by text message and email.

How we share this information

We do not sell or share the phone numbers or email addresses collected through our marketing program with unaffiliated third parties for their own marketing purposes. This excludes text messaging originator opt-in data and consent in particular: we will not share that information with any third parties under any circumstances.

Location tracking

Sidney Paul & Co does not currently collect or use location-based data as part of our email or SMS marketing program. Should this change, we will update this policy to fully describe how we collect and use location data, and for what purpose.

Who we share your data with

If you request a password reset, the reset email will include your IP address. Beyond our email/SMS marketing platform (Klaviyo, described above), we only share your personal information with:

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with any other third parties for their own marketing purposes.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, we retain the comment and its metadata indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

How we keep your information secure

We do everything we can to keep the information from our users secure against unauthorised access and use. Our web server collects the domain names (not the e-mail addresses) of visitors to our website. We aggregate this information to measure the number of visits, average time spent on the site, and pages viewed, and we use it only to improve our website content and services. Our security measures protect all information, and we review these measures regularly.

Links to other websites

Our website may contain links to other sites. We make every effort to only link to sites that share our high standards and respect for privacy, but we are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of other websites.
