The Lost Gardens Noir Wallpaper
Lost Gardens Noir is a striking, chinoiserie-inspired wallpaper with a dramatic black ground and delicate metallic detailing. Its pattern draws on chinoiserie wallpapers popular during the 18th century. This was when the style first travelled West from the East.
Historically, designs like this decorated royal palaces and grand houses across Europe. In particular, they were valued for their sense of far-flung travel and old-world glamour. Similarly, the Lost Gardens wallpaper recreates that classic style, drawing on exotic influences from ornamental gardens to tropical landscapes.
About the Lost Gardens Noir Colourway
Overall, this is the boldest colourway in the Lost Gardens collection. It also suits today’s interiors, pairing a contemporary palette with a delicate shine reminiscent of hand-painted silks. Indeed, against the inky black ground, metallic birds, foliage and flowers seem to glow, creating a dramatic, jewel-like effect. This makes it particularly perfect for a feature wall, hallway or powder room.
For instance, the collection’s Azure and Emerald colourways bring a brighter, more contemporary feel. By contrast, this colourway leans into drama and depth, making it a striking choice for anyone wanting an immersive, atmospheric space.
Whether styled with dark woodwork, brass fittings or rich velvet furnishings, this wallpaper works beautifully in both traditional and contemporary settings. It suits a full-room statement just as well as a softer look, paired with a plain complementary colour.
