Environment

First and foremost, sustainable wallpaper sits at the centre of everything we design at Sidney Paul & Co. In fact, we take our environmental responsibilities seriously, choosing every supplier, ink and substrate with the planet in mind. Sustainability shapes each stage of our production, from studio sketch to finished roll.

Low-Impact Inks for Sustainable Wallpaper

First, we print every design using water-based inks. These inks contain no solvents. Moreover, they release very low levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). This keeps our wallcoverings non-toxic from print room to living room. In addition, we avoid solvent inks and vinyl substrates entirely. Independent testing confirms our products meet Grade 6 of BS EN ISO 105-BO2:1999 for colour fastness. As a result, your chosen colours stay vivid for years.

Responsibly Sourced Materials for Sustainable Wallpaper

We source every paper and non-woven substrate from FSC or PEFC certified forests. Furthermore, this includes the natural fibres used in our grasscloth wallcoverings. Independent certification traces the timber back to responsibly managed woodland, protecting biodiversity at every stage. Likewise, fire safety matters a great deal to us. We test our products against the EN13501-1:2007+A1+2009 European fire regulations, and they achieve a pass mark of B, s2-d0. As a result, you can hang our wallpaper anywhere within a commercial building, including hotels, restaurants and offices.
